There are a lot of tradeoffs to be considered in buying either of the newer cameras, but strictly from a night sky photography perspective, is there any significant advantage in either the 6D Mark II or 5D Mark IV over the 6D? (I know the 6D Mark II offers a tilting LCD which might be useful, but I have a 7 foot tall tripod, so I normally just adjust it high enough that I can look easily through the viewfinder without bending over, thus can see the LCD as well.) I would not be considering replacing the camera except the holiday sale prices on the newer 6D Mark II and 5D Mark IV are really attractive right now. I've been happy with the camera for night sky and general landscape photography. Four years ago I bought a Canon 6D for night sky photography mostly Milky Way and Aurora Borealis photography.
